Lynn Vorbrich named Lead Director

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – (February 26, 2009) – GuideOne Insurance today named Jim Wallace to the position of Chairman of its Board of Directors, effective immediately. This adds to Wallace’s duties as GuideOne’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Lynn Vorbrich, who had served as Chairman of GuideOne’s Board since May 2001, has been named Lead Director.

Wallace joined GuideOne in June 2001 as President and CEO. Under his leadership, GuideOne has recorded record earnings and surplus.
Wallace also serves on the Greater Des Moines Partnership Board of Directors, the Property and Casualty Insurers Association of America Board of Governors, the Drake University School of Business National Advisory Council, and the Iowa Farm Bureau Mutual Funds (Equi-Trust) Board of Directors.

A magna cum laude graduate of Drake University, Wallace is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. He also is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and the Iowa Society of CPAs.

Vorbrich, who has served on GuideOne’s board since 1993, will be Lead Director. He is a past executive vice president of MidAmerican Energy Company, and has more than 40 years of executive and leadership experience.
